Welcome to Mountainside Chocolates!

The Smoky Mountains of North Carolina provide a magnificent backdrop for our Mountainside Chocolates shop. As you wind your way down Cowee Mountain, look for us on the left, just before the wood carver's shop, about 5 miles north of Franklin. For directions to our shop, click here.

We're surrounded by magnificent scenery, but inside you're sure to find our handmade chocolates, fudge and other candies just as irresistible. Our confections are made with carefully guarded Drost family recipes that date back to 1887.

Our assorted truffles and fine chocolates are handmade in our shop with high quality chocolate, using the freshest dairy cream, sweet butter and nuts. We never use preservatives or additives.

Our old-fashioned fudge, toffee, caramels, peanut brittle and pralines are cooked in a copper pot over an open flame, then finished on our 1,000-pound granite table. Sweet treats you'll want to enjoy year 'round!

You will also find a selection of sugar-free candies, Mayfield ice cream (your favorite sundaes, shakes, malts and sodas made to order) and a variety of gift items.
